Meet Sunny

Meet Sunny

Sunny, born Shaunna Dior Richardson is a Grand Rapids native. The offspring of a singer/songwriter and prolific pianist, she was raised in family of musicians. For nearly a decade, Sunny could be found as a background vocalist in the professional gospel jazz group, the Imani Singers of GR, sang in local church choirs and on various worship teams, until stepping out to do solo music in 2021. Since turning solo, Sunny gets regularly booked for miscellaneous events, including community events, local talent events and special events. Sunny considers her style R&B, her voice reminiscent of soulful R&B and jazz, with modern vibes. 

About Sunny?

Under the growing umbrella of karaoke services, Sunny provides karaoke therapy, private party bookings and stage consultation services. She has compiled her academic studies, entrepreneurial endeavors, passion for music and professional work history, in hopes of empowering others.

Sunny sings with her soul and aims to inspire others and leave them feeling confident and courageous.

 

Our Services

Karaoke w/Sunny

  • Sunny provides both, hosting and planning services, at request of client.

  • Sunny uses karaoke and therapeutic interventions to address mental health in sessions, for both youth and adults. Services available for public and private settings.

  • Sunny will provide hosting services for local businesses (i.e., karaoke). Sunny will perform and/or host at public events, such as festivals and other local events.

Private Events

Mentoring and Stage Consultation

  • Sunny will lead groups of creatives using courage boosters and provide stage presence guidance and instruction.

  • Sunny will educate on the importance of professionalism. Sunny will provide scenarios where students will re-enact/role play.

Sunny (Creator and Host of Karaoke w/Sunny)

Karaoke therapy is a mixture of karaoke and therapy, that address overall mental health, using self-expression through song and dance.

Sunny holds a Master’s in social work degree and works as a Family Therapist for a local agency and private practice. In addition, Sunny is an Alumnus of Calvin University and Western Michigan University.

Sunny’s mission is to help everyone she meets become more confident and courageous.

KARAOKE THERAPY SESSION AND/OR CLASSES INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

Individual therapy

Individual song performance and/or interpretation associated with a specific topic, issue or challenge.

Small group therapy

Small group discussions focused on songs chosen in advance, associated with a specific topic, issue or challenge. Groups will perform in front of full group.

Book Sunny

All Services Require $50.00 non-refundable deposit

BASE PAY RATE: $100 per 1hour

Additional $50 fee for setup and breakdown of own equipment

Karaoke Therapy is currently available for private bookings.

Rates depend on class size. Class sizes up to 10 participants-$150 or $20 per body for 75 min session.
